Here we go again, week number three in the NFL. A huge week for a few teams. For teams that end up 0-3 after this week, they can basically kiss their season goodbye. With that in mind, here are The Herd’s Blazing Five picks that he runs weekly on Fox Sports.
Colin Cowherd Blazing Five Picks for NFL Week 3:
Colts (-3.5) at Titans
Niners at Cardinals (-6.5)
Bills (+3) at Dolphins
Broncos at Lions (+3.5)
Chargers (+2.5) at Vikings
In case you’re interested, here were his college football picks:
Texas AM (miracle winner)
Miss. St. (winner)
Arizona to upset UCLA (not even close, UCLA looking like a top 5 team in the country)
Oregon (not even close, Ducks not looking like a top 25 team in the country)
USC (covering comfortably as of the time of this writing)
Cousin Sal’s Best Bets for NFL Week 3:
Now onto Cousin Sal’s NFL picks. As you may know, Cousin Sal is a write on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, and a regular on Bill Simmons’ podcast (who, by the way, returns to podcasting on iTunes on Oct 1st with the podcast show name of The Bill Simmons’ Podcast). Cousin Sal is basically a degenerate sports gambler that used his connections to score a weekly segment on ESPN’s Sport Center. In his segment he picks 3 best bets for the week. And what’s remarkable is that before last week’s loss, Cousin Sal was actually on a 15 week winning streak, going back to last year. Very impressive. Now onto his picks:
Steelers vs Rams (+2) – Cousin Sal going against the public and taking the home dog. Ballsy move, considering how Pitt has been destroying the competition the first 2 weeks and now they get the dangerous Leveon Bell back.
6pt Teaser (Seattle -9 and New England -8) – personally not a fan of teasers, but logic says this should be a safe bet.
Best Bet of the Week
Tampa Bay at Houston (-6.5) – JJ Watt eats up rookie QBs for breakfast, a lot of points to give in the NFL for a 0-2 team.
