Clay Travis went 6-9 with his picks last week, bringing his overall record to 36-34 for the 2023 season. In this week’s article, Travis makes 16 picks for week 6 of the college football season, hoping to start “Locktober” off strong. He calls this week his “blood bank guarantee” and predicts he will go 16-0.

Clay Travis’ Week 6 College Football Picks

  • LSU at Missouri +6.5
  • Rutgers +14 at Wisconsin
  • Oklahoma +6.5 vs Texas
  • Maryland +19.5 at Ohio State
  • Purdue at Iowa, under 40.5
  • Alabama at Texas A&M +2.5, under 49.5
  • Vanderbilt +18.5 at Florida
  • Colorado at Arizona State, over 59.5
  • Kentucky +14.5 at Georgia, under 47.5
  • Arkansas at Ole Miss, over 61.5
  • Arizona +21.5 at USC
  • Notre Dame at Louisville +6.5, under 51.5
  • LSU at Missouri +6.5

LSU at Missouri +6.5

Travis believes both teams will score over 30 points in this game, making the over 63 a “blood bank guarantee.” He doesn’t understand why LSU would be favored by nearly a touchdown based on their previous SEC games. He thinks Missouri at home will not lose by double digits.

Rutgers +14 at Wisconsin

Travis is betting on his “favorite team in the history of mankind”, the 5-1 Rutgers Scarlet Knights, to cover the 14 point spread in a likely low scoring game at Wisconsin.

Oklahoma +6.5 vs Texas

Travis notes Oklahoma has quietly been dominating opponents while Texas has gotten all the attention. With Oklahoma’s roster having recent experience winning this rivalry game, Travis sees this as a field goal type game, making the +6.5 Sooners the play.

Maryland +19.5 at Ohio State

Travis points out undefeated Maryland is 5-0 against power 5 teams, winning every game by 18+. With Ohio State’s offense not looking great and this likely a low scoring game, Travis sees the 19.5 point spread as too high and is taking the Terrapins.

Purdue at Iowa under 40.5

Travis bluntly states this will be a boring Big Ten matchup with neither team scoring over 21 points, making the under 40.5 a “mortal lock”.

Alabama at Texas A&M +2.5, under 49.5

Travis predicts Texas A&M will win this game outright in a low scoring defensive struggle. He doesn’t think Alabama’s offense has enough talent this year. Travis sees this as a 24-17 Aggies win, so is taking A&M +2.5 and the under 49.5.

Vanderbilt +18.5 at Florida

Travis doesn’t believe Florida deserves to be an 18.5 point favorite over any SEC team, even Vandy. He expects Florida to win by around 10 points, giving Vandy the cover.

Colorado at Arizona State, over 59.5

Travis thinks Arizona State has a chance to pull the upset, but either way both offenses will score enough to easily hit the over 59.5.

Kentucky +14.5 at Georgia, under 47.5

Travis wanted to pick Georgia but can’t justify them as 14.5 point favorites based on their offense so far. He sees a 24-14 Georgia win in a boring low-scoring game, so is taking Kentucky +14.5 and the under.

Arkansas at Ole Miss, over 61.5

Coming off an explosive win over LSU, Travis expects similar offensive fireworks from Ole Miss in this game. He predicts a 45-31 Rebels win, easily hitting the over 61.5.

Arizona +21.5 at USC

Travis questions USC’s ability to cover over 21 points based on their weak defense displayed in Pac 12 games so far. He sees Arizona easily covering the spread.

Notre Dame at Louisville +6.5, under 51.5

Travis calls undefeated Louisville the biggest surprise this year. With Notre Dame likely drained after two physical games, he predicts a low scoring 17-14 type game, allowing Louisville to cover +6.5 and the under 51.5 to hit.
