Update:  Check here for Colin Cowherd’s Week 13 Blazing Five Picks

Once again, Colin just missed on a 4-1.  Ravens should have covered that spread, Cowboys kicked a meaningless field goal in the last minute of the game.  Still a winning week going 3-2.

If you’re looking for other winners, Chris Berman and Ripsaw have been killing it so far this year. And don’t miss our boy Cousin Sal’s picks this week.

THE HERD’S BLAZIN’ FIVE PICKS NFL 2016 WEEK 12 (Season Record 31-23-1):

[loser] Washington at Dallas (-7) – rare favorite that Colin will take.  Skins are playing on the road on Thursday after having just played on the Sunday night game the week before.  Cowboys are second in the league in 1st half scoring, so they will take a lead early in their games.  Redskins defense allow almost 50% of the rushes for more than 4 yards.  Dallas are more rested, will take a lead, and keep the ball away from the Redskins.  Dallas wins 33-23.

[winner] Carolina (+3.5) at Oakland – People are jumping on the Raiders bandwagon now.  Oakland is actually a better team playing away from Oakland.  They just came off a long trip to Mexico City on Monday night.  Panthers have not been on the road much since Week 6, so they are a much fresher team.  Cam has won 10 out of his last 14 road games.  Raiders do not have the pass rush to get to Cam, with just 15 sacks on the year, fewest in the league.  Raiders defense are also allowing 6.3 yards per play, which is the worst in the NFL.  Panthers win 30-27.

[winner] San Diego (-1) at Houston – Houston on a short week, San Diego rested coming off a bye week.  SD has the much better QB this game.  All 6 of San Diego’s losses were one possession games.  Texans are only averaging 4.7 yards per play, which is the 2nd worst in the league.  San Diego wins 34-26.

[winner] Arizona at Atlanta (-4) – Colin’s favorite pick this week.  He usually doesn’t like favorites, but this is a good spot for the Falcons, they are coming off a bye and are well rested for this matchup.  Carson Palmer has turn the ball over 13 times and sacked 26 times in his last 6 starts.  This is an early east coast starting time, which is tougher on the west coast teams.  Falcons are explosive at home, averaging 37 points a game in their last 3 home games. Bruce Arians was also hospitalized this week, which would be a distraction for the team.  Atlanta wins 30-20.

[winner] Kansas City (+3.5) at Denver – Colin thinks they played awful last week because they were looking ahead to the Denver game.  KC has won 17 of their last 20 games.  Their defense probably just as good as Denver’s defense.  They lead the league in takeaways and turnover differentials, both better than Denver.  They even have the most redzone takeaways.  Since week 8, Denver defense has only been ranked 23rd, mostly because their offense is lousy and can’t keep the ball.  Siemian is completing less than 55% of his throws in those games.  Kansas City wins 24-23.
