Last week I had a rough outing, going 0-2. The Patriots -7 fell just short as they won by 6, in a win that included Brady throwing a goal line pick, and a missed extra point by Gostkowski. Brutal way to not cover, even more brutal way to not even push.

Then the Cowboys lost by 2, their offense looked flat and the Saints were able to get it done. We’re going to make up for it this week.

So here we go with our NFL week 5 best bets.

LA Rams @ Seattle Seahawks

Sean’s Pick: Seattle -1

This Thursday night match-up features two solid teams both coming in with a record of 3-1. The game is basically a pick-em as the spread is 1.

The Rams are coming in off their first loss of the season where they lost a 55-40 shoutout vs. the Buccaneers. The Rams defense looked absolutely terrible. However, the Rams offensive line looked even worse.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) has the Rams offensive line graded the lowest out of any team in the NFL. Yes, lower than the Bengals.

While, on the other hand the Seahawks defense has looked pretty good. The Rams offensive line will not be ready for the Seahawks pass rush. The Seahawks have notched 10 sacks this season, 2 interceptions, and 3 fumbles.

Seattles offense has also looked good in several games. Russell Wilson went 22-28 for over 200 yards and a TD last week. While the week before their offense put up over 500 total yards.

The Rams defense looked terrible, and their offensive line needs a lot of work. Seattle is going to exploit this weakness on the offensive line which will limit the running game, and force Jared Goff into uncomfortable situations.

In a tough fought game, look for the Seahawks to come out on top.

Lock in Seattle -1.

Buffalo Bills @ Tennessee Titans

Sean’s Pick: Under 39

I faded the Bills last week and went with the Patriots -7. While there were some bad plays by the Patriots that led to a Buffalo cover, you do need to give this team some credit. This defense is the real deal. They held the Patriots to just 16 points, prior to this game the Pats had scored 30 or more in all of their matchups.

Josh Allen did not look good. He threw for several interceptions, which was a big part of why the offense struggled. Matt Barkley came in during the 4th quarter after Allen was taken out following a helmet to helmet hit. It is still unsure if Allen will play Sunday or not. However, Barkley did not look like that much of a downgrade from Allen.

The Titans on the other hand have had on and off weeks. They looked amazing week 1 vs. the Browns, but then terrible weeks 2 and 3 vs. the Colts and Jaguars, and then good again week 4 against the struggling Falcons.

The Titans offense was held to 7 points against a stout Jacksonville defense. I think the Bills defense is as good, maybe even better than that defense.

I love the under in this one, as Mariota and the Titans will struggle. Barkley will be sufficient enough to put together a few drives, but not enough to worry about the over.

Look for a grinded out, low scoring game.

Lock in the under at 39.

Cleveland Browns @ San Francisco 49ers

Sean’s Pick: Browns +3.5

This weeks Monday night matchup features two of the most interesting teams of the 2019 season. The Browns were the talk of the NFL for their offseason moves, and the 49ers were finally getting a healthy Jimmy G.

The 49ers have lived up to the hype, while the Browns have been a bit of a disappointment so far. The 49ers are coming off a bye week and are 3-0.

The Browns are coming off a huge win, where they upset the Baltimore Ravens on the road. Baker Mayfield looked good throwing for over 300 yards, and Nick Chubb had a field day rushing for over 160 yards and 3 TDs.

The Browns defense also looked good forcing 2 interceptions, and getting 4 sacks.

The niners are 3-0, but I think they aren’t as good as they seem. They have beat weak or hurt teams.

Coming into the season, everyone viewed the Browns as potential contenders, they finally showed that capability last week. If they play like this, they can compete with anyone in the NFL. I believe the Browns offense is finally beginning to figure out their chemistry. The Browns will be the 49ers biggest test yet.

Look for a big game on the ground again.

Lock in Browns +3.5
