Pretty sure Colin started his Blazing Five segment by saying week 8 would be his best week ever and he LOVED those picks.  Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out too well.  It wasn’t a complete disaster, Colin did go 2-3 last week. But for most people that followed his picks, they probably pushed the Giants game, so most people probably ended 1-3-1 if they tailed Colin’s week 8 picks.  The Colts pick was pretty money though, he did call for the Colts to get a backdoor cover, which did happen with a touchdown in the last couple minutes of the game.

Be sure to check out Bill Simmons’ week 9 picks also.

Onto this week’s picks:

THE HERD’S BLAZIN’ FIVE PICKS NFL 2015 WEEK 9:

eagles

[winner] Eagles (-2.5) at Cowboys – Philly coming off bye.  Dal has 4 takeovers all year, Eagles forced 19, last vs first here.  Eagles 28-20 Eagles win.

skins

[loser] Redskins (+14) at Patriots – Redskins coming off the bye and just came off a good game.  Cousins isn’t horrible with 68% completion rate, top in the league in 3rd down conversions.  Pats haven’t lost a fumble in 16 straight home games, that can’t last.  Take the points, Skins lose 30-21.

jags

[winner] Jaguars (+7) at Jets – Jags also off a bye.  Jets QBs are banged up.  Yeldon is running well this year as a rookie with a set of great young receivers on the Jags.  Bortles is good enough to win games in the NFL.  24-23 final score either way

pitt

[loser] Raiders at Steelers (-4) – Looks like a mistake line, Oak just came off an emotional win, but they are young, it will be tough to go into Pittsburgh to win on the east coast.  This is also Cousin Sal’s top pick this week.  Pitt wins 28-20.

giants

[winner] Giants (-2.5) at Bucs – Bucs defense are bottom 5 in the league, also coming off an emotional wins, possible let down game here.  3 of last 4 games, Bucs have given up more than 30 points.  Giants against rookie QB, and they usually win the turnover ratio.  Swallow the points, Giants win on the road by a td 34-27.

  1. I believe the Cowboys will win this again. Bradford against a better defense will force him to throw more picks and fumbles by him and receivers. This game will put Dallas back in the race ( if they win). My concern is the number of home game loses.it appears they win more away games than at home. it’s time to change.
