Update: here’s Colin’s Week 11 Blazing Five Picks

Colin continued his mediocre selections in his NFL week 9 picks with a 3-2 record.  At the end of the day, a winning record is always good.  Colin was correct on his Eagles, Jaguars, and Giants selections, while losing the Redskins and Steelers.  The truth is Colin should have gone 4-1.  The way that Steelers game ended was a bit interesting to say the least.  Can we say point shaving scandal?

Be sure to check out Bill Simmons’ week 10 picks also.

Onto this week’s picks:

THE HERD’S BLAZIN’ FIVE PICKS NFL 2015 WEEK 10:

herd1

[loser] Carolina at Tennessee (+5.5) – Carolina probably wins, but the new Titans head coach is breathing new life into its team.  Mariota first 6 games of his career is one of the best in the last half century, he’s tied with Dan Marino for passing TD’s this early in his career.  He’s complemented by a great defense, 4th in the league in creating 3 and outs.  Carolina is the only team in the league that runs more than passes, Panthers depend on the run against a Titans defense that defends the run well.  Carolina is 8-0 despite Newton throwing 9 picks. Titans lose this game in a close game, 27-26.

herd2

[winner] Arizona (+3) at Seattle – Seattle is not a dominate team this year, the only wins are against lesser competition, some with backup quarterbacks (Clausen with Bears, Cassel with Dallas, 1-7 Lions, free-falling Niners).  Colin thinks this line is made to get actions on both sides.  Being a public team, Seattle would get majority of the action if Cardinals was made the favorite or a pick ’em here.  Bruce Arian has rejuvenated Carson Palmer’s career, he has thrown most TD’s through first 8 games in Cardinals history.  Cardinals has scored the most points off turnovers in the NFL with 80 points this season, and Seattle can turn it over.  Cardinals are the better team, with better coaching, healthier team, better upfront offensively, and getting 3 points this game.  Seattle does not score in bunches and prone to turnovers.  Arizona wins 24-23.  Oh by the way, Cousin Sal LOVE this pick.

herd3

[loser] Dallas (+2) at Tampa Bay – With two average teams here, Colin will take the points here.  Dallas have played some close games, and they have been well coached.  They are top 8 in the league in 1st quarter scoring, their problem has been blown leads.  But against the Bucs, Cowboys should have no problem protecting the lead.  Cowboys also lead the league in time of possession, they should be able to contain the Bucs.  Cowboys win 26-23.

herd4

[winner] Jacksonville (+5.5) at Baltimore – Jags offensively is very underrated.  Ravens could easily be an 0-8 team if not for a couple close games.  Jags have been close in their losses except for the Patriots game.  Jacksonville has a young stud in Yeldon at running back and a couple up and coming receivers, and lead by Bortles that’s figuring out in this league.  Ravens are horrible against the pass.  Take the points, Jags will win outright 27-26.  Cousin Sal is also on Colin’s side here.

herd5

[loser] Detroit at Green Bay (-11) – Colin usually hates large favorite, but Detroit is such a mess right now, they simply can’t hang with a fired up Packers team that just came off 2 losses to elite teams.  Detroit defense is ranked in the bottom 5, while Packers has scored 73 1st quarter points, the most in the NFL.  Detroit has the worst offensive line with virtually no running game.  Green Bay will crush the Lions this week 37-20.

  1. Colin,

Ask Fox to update ALL major search engines, so fans can find you on the Net.

Also, there needs to be a clear ad on I Heart radio, so we can listen in without guessing.

What’s going on with FS1? I RECORD every show. FS2 does not have your show on Cablevusion or Verizon FIOS, whenever your three hours are INTERRUPTED.

    Thanks for your insights.

  2. I agree with Andrew. Trying to DVR the show every day is a joke. doing good to get the first hour. Yesterday I got the first 30 minutes. Ridiculous…
