Colin Cowherd Week 8 2024 Blazing 5
Here are Colin Cowherd’s Blazing 5 picks for the week:
- Bengals (-3) over Eagles
- Packers (-4) over Jaguars
- Colts (+5) over Texans
- Dolphins (-4) over Cardinals
- Commanders (+3) over Bears
Bengals (-3) vs Eagles
Joe Burrow dominates NFC teams with a 10-1 record, 24 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. Cincinnati’s recent losses have come against strong teams (Chiefs, Ravens, Commanders), and Burrow leads the NFL with five games of multiple touchdowns and 100+ passer rating.
The Eagles are overvalued with recent wins against struggling teams (Browns, Giants), and Jalen Hurts is struggling with the worst first-quarter offense in the league. Philadelphia’s defense has only two takeaways this year, an NFL low.
Colin predicts Bengals win 30-23.
Packers (-4) at Jaguars
Jordan Love is tied for NFL lead in touchdown passes despite missing two starts, and Green Bay ranks second in explosive plays. Love’s protection is superior to Lawrence’s, and he has 15 touchdown passes with improving performance.
Jacksonville under Doug Pederson is struggling (3-10 in last 13 games) with poor pass defense and third-down defense, managing only three takeaways.
Colin predicts Packers win 33-26.
Colts (+5) at Texans
The Colts have the highest-scoring fourth-quarter offense in the league with a strong running game and coaching. They’ve won four of their last five games, and Jonathan Taylor is cleared to play despite ankle issues.
Without Nico Collins, CJ Stroud is the third-most sacked and second-most pressured quarterback in the league.
Colin predicts Texans win 27-26, but Colts cover.
Dolphins (-4) vs Cardinals
Miami performs well at home under Mike McDaniel, going 20-12 with Tua versus 2-6 without him. Arizona has the worst third-down defense in the league and is on a short week, while Kyler Murray struggled in their recent win.
The Cardinals defense allowed Justin Herbert 350 yards with limited weapons, and they give up 6 yards per play.
Colin predicts Dolphins win 32-24.
Commanders (+3) vs Bears
The Commanders haven’t lost at home, and Marcus Mariota showed well last week with a 78% completion percentage.
Chicago’s three-game winning streak came against weakened teams (Rams without key players, Panthers, Jaguars), and they have multiple injuries in their secondary. Caleb Williams is frequently under pressure despite his mobility.
Colin predicts Commanders win 28-24.
