Colin Cowherd Week 9 2024 Blazing 5
Here are Colin Cowherd’s Blazing 5 picks for the week:
- Cowboys (+3) over Falcons
- Commanders (-4) over Giants
- Ravens (-8) over Broncos
- Packers (+2.5) over Lions
- Rams (-1) over Seahawks
Cowboys (+3) at Falcons
Dallas has been a better road team than home team this year, making this a key must-win situation.
Atlanta has won six of their eight games by just one possession, and their defense struggles with only six sacks on the season. The Falcons are terrible on third down and generating quarterback pressure, which will give Dak Prescott time in the pocket.
Colin predicts Cowboys win 28-27.
Commanders (-4) at Giants
Washington outplayed Chicago in their previous game and leads the NFL in points per drive. Dan Quinn has the defense playing like a top 10 unit despite personnel limitations.
The Giants are 0-4 at home, and Daniel Jones hasn’t thrown a touchdown since losing his left tackle, while their defense is wearing down from being on the field too long.
Colin predicts Commanders win 28-20.
Ravens (-8) vs Broncos
Baltimore’s five wins have come by an average of 9.6 points, and Lamar Jackson has six straight games with 100+ passer rating.
Bo Nix has struggled on the road with a 68 passer rating and barely 60% completion rate, while Denver’s wins have come against weaker teams (Jets, Raiders, Saints, Panthers). The Broncos also have injuries at right tackle.
Colin predicts Ravens win 33-23.
Packers (+2.5) vs Lions
Green Bay has won six of their last seven games, averaging over 28 points, and ranks second in NFL big plays offensively. Matt LaFleur’s team leads the NFL in takeaways defensively and has been hyper-aggressive on both sides of the ball.
Detroit has 12 different players on the injury report and is missing Jameson Williams’ deep threat ability.
Colin predicts Packers win 28-27.
Rams (-1) at Seahawks
Los Angeles is coming off extra rest after their Thursday game and is 7-3 when healthy with Stafford, Puka, Kupp, and Kyren Williams playing. They’re the second-least penalized team in the league.
Seattle has lost four of their last five games and has multiple injuries (Tyler Lockett, Noah Fant, DK Metcalf, offensive line).
Colin predicts Rams win 27-23.
